Estadounidense, nacida en 1960 en Ciudad de México, vive y trabaja en Nueva York.

Las pinturas de Claudia Doring Baez están animadas por una reverencia a la historia del arte, plasmada en un vocabulario contemporáneo y expresionista. Báez entabla conversaciones con la obra de algunos de los grandes artistas de los siglos pasados: selecciona, recrea y adopta detalles de imágenes. Sus pinturas están impregnadas de referencias del arte y la literatura, que van desde el expresionismo alemán a Marcel Proust, Brassaï, las ricas representaciones de Tiziano a versiones abstraídas de la obra de Fra Angelico y Johannes Vermeer, junto con inspiraciones de artistas contemporáneos como Cindy Sherman.

Claudia Doring Baez’s paintings are animated by a reverence for art history, embodied in a contemporary and expressionist vocabulary. Baez engages in conversations with the works of some of the great artists of past centuries: she selects, recreates, and adopts details from images. Her paintings are imbued with references from art and literature, ranging from German Expressionism to Marcel Proust, Brassaï, the rich depictions of Titian to abstracted versions of works by Fra Angelico and Johannes Vermeer, along with inspirations from contemporary artists like Cindy Sherman.

Claudia Doring Baez has exhibited in New York, Aqua Art Fair in Miami, Zona Maco Art Fair in Mexico City, Scope Basel in Switzerland, Lehman College, La MaMa Galleria, Ethan Cohen Gallery, and her work can be seen in publications such as Art News Magazine.
